BEAR's first show in the history of time is in the books. Many thanks to the many of you that braved the rain and hauled your hinds to the Driftwood in South Minneapolis. None of us had played/been there before, but they've got some fine, gracious hosts over there. We'll be back there with our songs in the future, no doubt.
Ben Eaton's 3-piece blues band opened the night and man that boy was howling through the entire set. As each song seemingly undid another button on his shirt, his guitar playing got more ferocious. Must've made some sort of deal with the devil himself on the drive over.
Our set featured 3 brand new songs we've been putting together, plus 5 jams from my solo records that we've reworked to fit the sound of this new outfit. It was a goddamn great evening. And we're damn near sold out of our BEAR Recycled Pocket Tees already, which is hard to believe. We'll have more printed up for the 7" release on July 19th at Honey in NE Minneapolis. But until then, we've got a couple new songs to perfect before our July 11th show with Chants & Seas over at Big V's in St. Paul. We can't wait. Until then, see you in the ether.
