BEAR is a band. A band of non-professional musicians. That's not to stay we're not confident in our abilities to play music with our instruments in a convincing manner. One that says, "Hey, they know how to play those instruments." We're non-professional in the sense that we all have day jobs. We all have priorities. We all have significant others. One of us has a bear cub (daughter). And sometimes when life catches up, it takes, say, 9 months to realize you haven't updated your band's website.
We chilled out this past summer. No weekends aligned for us to gig. I was in China for a while. Now, in this fall of 2015, we're back in the swing of this rocknroll thing. We played in September at the Driftwood. October at the Nomad. We're back to practicing once a week. Needless to say, we're playing music and we're making music that we're really excited about. So keep an eye on the calendar for an upcoming gig, we're going to try and stay busy this winter.
As for me, I've got other things happening with my own music. The next one on the books is a show up in Duluth with my dear friend Jim Hall at Tycoon's Alehouse on Saturday, December 12th.
Until next time. Which, to be honest, could be in a week or it could be in another 9 months.
